While keeping in theme and tradition, on Read Across America Day , The Wright Denny K-Kids traveled to Page Jackson Elementary School to read to students. Third grader Landon Brady read Llama Llama to Ms. Unger's 1st grade class. Landon said after reading he shared with the students what K-kids do at Wright Denny. Landon's word encouraged the first grade Students to one day join the K-kids after school program for 3rd- 5th grades at Wright Denny.
Landon's older sister Haley Brady is President of the K-Kids. Landon says he will run for K-kids president when he is in fifth grade. K-kids is a Kiwanis sponsored organization that provides a way for students to channel their energy into a positive and productive purpose. The club allows members to serve others and to contribute to their school and community.
When all the classes we finished reading the Page Jackson students graciously thanked the K-kids. The Wright Denny K-kids said they had a wonderful time at Page Jackson. They thanked Principal Shaffer for allowing them to visit and for being such wonderful hosts.
