CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. -- A Jefferson County English Language Arts (ELA) teacher has joined an elite group and achieved National Board Certification.
Jennifer Vogel, a fifth-grade teacher at Blue Ridge Elementary School, is among 3,831 teachers across the nation being welcomed by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS).
Being a Nationally Board Certified Teacher impacts the classroom according to Peggy Brookins, NBCT, president and CEO of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
“These new National Board Certified Teachers will continue to change the way their students learn, and their proven ability to be the best teachers they can be will have a ripple effect on their schools and their communities for years to come,” she said.
An increasing number of states and districts support growing the number of Board-certified teachers because of the impact they see on teachers and students.
Vogel joins 1,046 Nationally Board Certified Teachers in the Mountain State.
