Mahoney named Principal at South Jefferson Elementary

Keri Mahoney, Principal SJESCHARLES TOWN – Jefferson County Schools is pleased to announce Keri Mahoney has been named principal of South Jefferson Elementary School (SJES).
“She is extremely passionate and committed to the success of her students and fellow staff members,” said Jefferson County Schools Superintendent Dr. Bondy Shay Gibson. 
Mahoney began he educational career in Jefferson County Schools (JCS) in 1997 as a third-grade teacher at SJES. She eventually moved on to the fifth-grade and eventually became a member of the administration team in 2008. She is the assistant principal at SJES. This year marks her 20th anniversary at the school.
“We are very happy to have such a dedicated, established teacher and administrator be promoted through the school system,” Gibson said. “Keri’s background within JCS and her ties to SJES made her an easy choice.”
Mahoney holds a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education (k-8) from Shepherd University, along with an Administrative Certificate from West Virginia University.
