CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. – The Jefferson County Board of Education has voted to appoint Amy Loring as the new Chief Human Resources Officer for Jefferson County Schools.
Ms. Loring comes to Jefferson County Schools with an extensive background in human resources, having started her career nearly 20 years ago in the private sector.
She spent eight years working at the university level, where she managed all recruitment and employment activities in the areas of staff, administrator, faculty, and students.
Since 2013, Ms. Loring has been working in the West Virginia Public School system.
Her experience has made her familiar with staffing procedures and certification requirements for all professional positions, and has experience with current local, state and federal laws regarding human resources management and development.
Ms. Loring said she is looking forward to making the change to Jefferson County, where she currently lives with her family.
“I am so thankful for this opportunity to serve my community and to work with the Administration, faculty and staff, and the Board of Education in Jefferson County to expand the existing work that’s been done in creating an excellent educational environment through a Human Resources standpoint.”
Ms. Loring added that she feels able to help support Jefferson County Schools employees so they can overcome the numerous obstacles they face.
“What most excites me is the ability to partner with the entire community in helping address the challenges our teachers and staff face in their jobs that impede them from creating the best learning environment and culture for our students.”
Ms. Loring’s first day will be July 1, 2019.
