JCS Winners at Regional Science Fair

KEYSER, W.Va. – Several Jefferson County high school students saw success at the 2019 Eastern Panhandle Regional Science Fair earlier this month.
On March 12, 209 students from Jefferson High School (JHS) and Washington High School (WHS) were in Keyser, W.Va. to present projects across multiple categories.
Jefferson High School students James Cantrell/Julian Patoray received Honorable Mention in Biomedical & Health Sciences. Matthew Spiker took First Place -- Computer Sciences and was the First Grand Prize Winner Overall. Carter Burke/Andrew Schattel took Honorable Mention in Engineering. Aleicia Fischman came in Second Place in Environmental Sciences. Emily Arnicar was Third Place in Mathematical Sciences. And Washington High School's Sarah Ward was Second Place in Behavioral & Social Sciences.
Spiker will advance to the 2019 Intel International Engineering and Science Fair (ISEF) in Phoenix, AZ this May.
