FFA Judging Team Wins First at States

RIPLEY, W.Va. -- The Jefferson FFA Land Judging and Homesite Evaluation team won first place in the state in both the Land Judging and Homesite Evaluation Contests.
The state competition took place in Ripley, W.Va. on Friday, July 12, 2019.  
These contests required students to evaluate land and soil factors including erosion, slope, and permeability to determine the best use of the land for agricultural purposes and as a potential home site.  
Team members Jenna Everhart, Issac Carroll, Cameron Hargis, and Emily Marstiller competed.
Everhart placed as the top individual in Homesite and the second-place individual in the Land Judging portion of the contest; while Carroll placed fourth individually in Homesite and third overall in Land Judging.  
The team is now eligible to compete in the national contests held in Oklahoma in May 2020.
