Dr. Wendy Whitehair-Lochner to Fill Vacancy

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. – The Jefferson County Board of Education (JCBOE) voted unanimously to appoint Wendy Whitehair-Lochner, Ed.D to fill a vacancy on the board.
           The vacancy is for the unexpired term of Board Member Mrs. Arthena S. Roper, who resigned last month.
           Eight people applied for the vacancy before the deadline on Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, but one withdrew their name from consideration over the weekend.
           Dr. Whitehair-Lochner will serve as an interim board member until the Primary Election in May 2020 when the unfilled term will be put on the ballot.
“My love for our community and Jefferson County Schools has compelled me to run for the betterment of students in Jefferson County,” Dr. Whitehair-Lochner said in her application.
           Dr. Whitehair-Lochner is from the Shepherdstown District.
Other applicants included Terry Anderson, David Dinges, Chandra Drew, Ginger Hankins, Susan Pellish, Quintina Reddington, and Mary Lynn Richford.
           Dinges withdrew his name from consideration over the weekend.
