Soldier huggin students and adults packing lunches

Jefferson County School students often have wonderful opportunities for in person summer reading programs, but that is going to look a little different this year due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. As lifelong learners, JCS staff continue to think outside the box to support children. That’s why JCS is working with the WVU Extension Service to help with the modified Energy Express Program.
Energy Express is a summer reading program for children entering 1st through 6th grades. This free program that focuses on continuing literacy education throughout the summer months through art, writing, and drama activities. Youth applications are now being accepted. Anyone who completes a child application to save a spot gets 6 FREE books this summer! Share the news about this great opportunity to support reading skills this summer.CLICK HERE to apply.
