  • Jefferson County Schools Office 365 Resources
    jcs office 365
The JCS Technology Resource Facilitator (TRF) team has created a webpage to assist JCS staff in making the transition to the new K12 email system.  These resources are designed to assist you in getting and setting up your new K12 mail account.  The resources are located on the Technology Resource Facilitators section of the JCS website, under Office 365.
In addition, there is important information on updating your email address used on other websites.  For example, you will need to update your email address in WVEIS WOW. You will need to update your email information as well on other sites, such as the Staff Development Electronic Registration (ERO), SEMS, and JCS Online Pay Information.  You can view a list of other sites you should update as well.
Please visit the JCS Office 365 page.  For additional assistance, please complete the Technology Assistance Request Form on your school's website.

  • Medicaid Expansion Notice for Jefferson County Employees
Medicaid covers physician office visits, diagnostic testing, in-patient and out-patient hospital care, prescription drugs, durable medical equipment, behavioral health services, and other services as appropriate. Children under the age of 21 have access to the same services as adults plus preventive checkups, eye and dental care.  All of this comes without payment of a monthly premium.  There will be minimum co-payments for certain Medicaid services such as inpatient hospital stays, doctor’s office visits, non-preferred pharmacy drugs, and non-emergency visits to the ER.  Co-payments range from $2.00 up to $75.00 and are based on your level of income and the type of medical service.

The attached brochure from the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) explains who may now qualify for Medicaid coverage, and how you can apply.

If you apply and qualify for Medicaid benefits, your eligibility for Medicaid would be a “qualifying event” for you to drop your PEIA coverage when your Medicaid coverage begins.  As with any “qualifying event”, you would have the month you become eligible for Medicaid and the two following calendar months to drop your PEIA coverage.  Otherwise, you would have to wait until Open Enrollment to make the change.

I encourage you to read the attached brochure and to apply if you are interested in the program and believe you may qualify.
