Mrs. Hinkle received her B.A. in Elementary Education from West Liberty State College and a M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from West Virginia University. Prior to becoming Coordinator of Middle Schools, she taught fifth grade at C.W.Shipley and then sixth grade at Harpers Ferry Middle School. Mrs. Hinkle is a native of Ohio County and has 29 years of teaching experience in grades K-6.

The Office of Middle School Education:
•Provides ongoing communication with principals and teachers in theareas of curriculum and instruction, grades 6 - 8.
•Provides support to new teachers and assigned mentors at each middleschool through workshops, observations, conferencing, and securinginstructional materials.
•Interview and select teachers to serve on the instructional materialsadoption committee. This committee previews textbooks and recommendstheir choice to the Board of Education for approval.
•Coordinates the middle school honors program and facilitates anyreview of the program, as needed.
•Encourages and promotes parent and community clarity and involvementthrough daily communications representing the middle school educationprogram in Jefferson County Schools.
