SMS Jazz Band Best in State!
At the West Virginia State Jazz Festival, the Shepherdstown MIddle School Jazz Band was named the 2013 West Virginia Middle School Honor Jazz Band.
Congratulations to the jazz band on achieving the highest honor our state can bestow!
The jazz band traveled to Charleston to perform an honor concert on
Thursday, February 28, at 6:30 pm,
in the Little Theater of the Charleston Civic Center.

The Concert Band presented their honor band application concert at Jefferson High School on Jan. 23, 2013.

2012 Summer Band Performs at the Fair
The Shepherdstown Middle School Band had no sooner loaded the buses for our annual trip to the Jefferson County Fair when the rain began pouring down! Luckily, by the time we reached the fairgrounds, the rain had ended for the evening. The SMS Jazz Band entertained the crowd in the grandstands with their performances of Don't Get Around Much Anymore and Georgia on My Mind. The Concert Band took the stage next and play a variety of tunes, closing with a rousing rendition of The Pirates of the Caribbean. A good time was had by all!
Thank you to all of the band parents for bringing your band students to rehearsals this summer. We had a great turnout and a lot of fun this summer! Special thanks to our parade and fair chaperones: Mr. Cauvel, Mr. Eddy, Ms. Morris, and Mr. Biebel.
