Shipley Education Association (SEA) Mission Statement:
 

The SEA is a parent / teacher organization that is dedicated to strengthening the relationship between students, parents, and school staff.  We do this through various fun events during the school year.  The SEA is also responsible for fundraisers within the school.  All monies made by the SEA go directly to: field trips, recess supplies, holiday craft supplies, and technology equipment for the school.

 

The SEA Board invites you to attend our first SEA meeting for the 2012 - 2013 school year on Thursday, August 30th at 7:30 pm.  We will be giving a power point presentation to help explain the many fun events the SEA did last year, and what we would like to do this year.  Whether or not you can attend the meeting, please consider volunteering on one of our many committees described on the attached page.  If you are interested in lending a hand this year, please complete the attached form and check one or more of the committees that you would like to join.   You will also find a page providing a brief description of each committee. 

 

The SEA Board will have a table set-up in the front hall at kindergarten registration on August 22 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and on August 30th  from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, where you will also be able to sign up for any committees and ask questions.  The SEA will also have a table set up with sample items from the Great American Fundraiser that we will be doing in September.  You will have the opportunity to win one of these items after the presentation.  We will be raffling the items off at the end of the presentation.  Also, the Schwan’s truck will be at the school that evening selling frozen foods from 6:00 to 8:30 pm.  The SEA will get a percentage of the entire sales.

 

Many parents are unable to attend the monthly meetings, but we would like everyone to stay informed.  Please provide us with your e-mail address and we will send you the meeting notes each month.  

 

We will be meeting on the first Tuesday of every month.  Most months we will meet at 7:00 pm in the school cafeteria.  In an effort to accommodate more parents and teachers, our November 1st and March 6th meetings will be held at 4:00 pm in the school gym.  Child care will be provided in the library.   Listed below are the meeting dates for this school year.  Meeting reminders will be sent home in students’ backpacks.  Please mark your calendars.
