I would like to welcome you to the 2012-2013 school year! I look forward to our third year of excellence in education at Driswood Elementary School! This year begins my 18th year as an educator. I am the proud mom of a twelve year old seventh grader at Shepherdstown Middle School named Noah and wife to my wonderful husband Darren for seventeen years. I began my career as an elementary teacher, then I became a Reading Specialist and an Elementary Coordinator, and in 2009 I became the Principal of Driswood Elementary School. I feel the most significant role of my career as the Principal is to provide a student centered educational atmosphere, which promotes quality, engaging instruction, and empowered academic student and staff professional growth.
My instructional goals for 2012-2013 school year are to increase student engagement opportunities, higher order thinking teacher and student questioning through diverse instructional strategies and practices, and provide opportunities for students to develop cooperative strategies through partner and small group learning activities.
