Jefferson County Schools also offers free Adult Basic Education classes on a continuous basis for those who want to earn a TASC (Test Assessing Secondary Completion)
or renew their basic academic skills. ABE also provides career assessment, career counseling, and assists the unemployed with job seeking and skills to keep a job. Classes are free and all books and materials are supplied. Classes meet at the Jefferson County Adult Learning Center, 202 E. Liberty Street, Charles Town, WV 25414. Included in Jefferson County's ABE program are day and evening adult English as a Second Language and English Language Civics / Citizenship classes. These classes are for adults who are not native speakers of English and who wish to learn English or improve their English language skills.
